KLE3N
We?re five guys in our early twenties, with different influences but the same goal: ?rock our heads off?. Each of us fell into music when we were very young; Yann and Tom started off with the piano, Michaël with the guitar and Julien started off in a choir. Derek lays down the rythm, Yann brings us his crazy, punky riffs, Michaël more romantic sweet chords, Julien his British style and Tom gets the words right; the mix of it all gave birth to a rock band named KLE3N (pronounced ?clean?).
The band
Rowing was the start point of the band. Tom, Michaël and Julien were in the same club. They practised a lot together and after many hours shared on Lake Geneva, true friendship developed. They all had been writing stuff for ages but in summer 2005 when Tom finished his first complete song and showed it to Michaël who set it to a few chords, Julien thought it sounded pretty cool and showed them some stuff he had composed on his side. They were still missing a key element: drums. So this is how Yann, a friend of Julien's, who could play the drums, joined the band; he was at the same school as Julien and after hearing some of their compositions, agreed to rock with them. Yann brought much more than drums to the band and he now plays the lead guitar. So KLE3N is composed of Tom in lead vocals, Yann and Julien on the guitar and vocals, and Michaël on the bass, and Derek plays the drums.
Current activities
We meet up every week to practise and improve and compose new songs. We have about ten finished songs. Our myspace website is http://www.myspace.com/kleenrock, and we?re planning to build our own website. We're participating in the M4Music Demotape Clinic and in the Battle of the Bands. We don?t have much live performance experience so we are also looking for places to play.
