ROOTSY LION

Tout commence en 1995, Rootsy Lion rencontre Aldo B (Kaliwa Sound)
qui lui fait découvrir le Reggae Music et la culture des Sound System.
Très rapidement Rootsy s’investit dans ce milieu musical
Il débute comme organisateur et opérateur pour Kaliwa Sound et Natural Mystic.
Fin 1996, il décide de monter son propre Sound System Jah Works Promotion .
Au fil des représentations, Rootsy se lance dans le chant et l’écriture.
Il aborde, a l’aide de lyrics conscients, en français, des sujets qui touchent et rassemblent :
l’amour, l’unité, la douleur, la science sans conscience …
Il tourne avec son Sound system, partout en France et en Europe,
mais ne souhaite pas s’arrêter pas à son travail d’Auteur/Interprète.
Rootsy Lion est un artiste complet et passionné, qui s’intéresse
à toutes les facettes de la musique, et a tout ce qui nous permet de la partager.
En 2000, il débute sa collaboration avec Popa Levi « Reggae Temple »
Rootsy monte son Home studio, et ils travaillent ensemble sur l’élaboration de riddims originaux.
Par la suite, Rootsy rencontre Roots Arna qui devient sélecteur du Sound System Jah Works Promotion.
Il peut alors, plus se concentrer sur son chant et sur la conception de son show.
En 2005, Rootsy Lion et Roots Arna montent le label Rootspirit, sur lequel ils produisent le premier titre de Rootsy , Je m’explique, avec Murray Man sur la face A, artiste reconnu de Birmingham, et son titre Step it up, (Maxi 45t). Puis d autres productions suivent (Ras Alan, Tena Stelin, Claire Angel, Rootsy lion …)
2007 « Artikal Band »
Backing Band de Montpellier, jouant au coté de grands artistes Reggae
(Sister Carol, Mikal Rose, Murray Man, Chronicle….),
se propose d’accompagner Rootsy Lion, en live.
Popa Levi, le compositeur des versions (Reggae Temple), interviendra aux percussions.

Rootsy Lion et ses choristes peuvent donc se produire à l’aide d’une platine, ou
accompagné par les musiciens d’Artikal Band.
Rootsy Lion nous transmet sur scène une énergie incroyable.
Sa voix chaude et ses textes engagés marquent les esprits...
Du Roots au New Waves, Rootsy lion nous offre
une prestation originale et de qualité, tant sur le plan artistique que professionnel.

ROOTSY LION

ROOTSY LION is a French artist setteled down in the country side surronding Paris.
He began in 1995 as operator for Natural Mystic Sound System,
then became selector for Anonym and Kaliwa Sound.
In 1997, he started his own Sound System Jah Works Promotion.
Throughout the performances, Rootsy Lion launched into singing and writing.
In 2000 he recorded a scale on Popa Levi’s
original productions. (composer for Sai Sai, Daddy yod…)
Shortly after, Rootsy Lion combines with Roots Arna who became
Jah Works Promotion’s new selector.
Together, they multiplied performances in Paris , but also,
Everywhere in France and in Spain.
Little by little, Rootsy met the members of the group
(from Paris and suburbs)
In 2005, the band was settled, rehearsed every week and was ready to perform.
In May 2005, Rootsy Lion released on his own label
ROOTSPIRIT Production (Jah Works Promotion),
his track untitled Je m’explique.
Side A of the 12 inches featured famous artist Murray Man
on a track called Step it up, both songs on an original
riddim by Popa Levi (Reggae Temple)
Together with his Sound System and/or with his band,
from Roots Reggae to new waves (influenced by Third world, Black Uhuru…)
Rootsy Lion offers realistic and committed lyrics and a good quality and original performance, would it be artistic or professional.
