GRANDE FINALE ZICMEUP TOUR 10

Momo Soro was born in the 8th of February in the Ivory Coast. His love affair with percussions started from a very early age and as a child he built his own drum set out of bottles, tin lids and cardboard boxes.

At the age of 14 he performs live for the first time for the prom of the school of Korhogo college.
He was immediately noticed for his talents and personality and was shortly afterwards hired by the Mewlesel Orchestra, Abidjan musical formation, where he perfects his skills and goes on his first International tour.

After a brief stint with the military service where he played with the musical formation of the Ivory Coast’s Republican National Guard he played for a few years for the Ivorian television orchestra for canne ORTI. He was later recruited to play for the Philarmonic Orchestra of Gendarmeria in Abidjan.

In 1999, during the time of the coup d’etat, Momo is forced to abandon his country to go into exile to Canada, where his talent was immediately recognized. Here, as the drummer Dobacaracol, for various years writes and composes his own music and lyrics. With the Dobacaracol he actively particpates in the band’s LP in 2005 which reached Gold status.

Recently, with his new group, The Z’Wa (Joy), he greatly desires to branch out onto the European scene and market and where he is preparing an elaborate Euro tour to present his new LP LE SYMBOL which is scheduled for its International release in the Spring of 2010.
